GIKONDO - Some foreign exhibitors at the just opened 12th Expo have expressed complaints about the as being ‘longer than necessary’.

Liddon Muturi, the regional representative of Kickstart, a company dealing in irrigation pumps, strongly contested the 12 days of the expo saying it is too long and strenuous on business.

"12 days is too long and expensive for us. The maximum days should have been at least 7. I have been participating in many expos in many other countries but I have not seen an expo taking this long.”

He however commended the exhibition organizers for their orderliness and the improved infrastructure which makes transport easier.

The expo seems to be have kicked off on a good note as both local and foreign exhibitors seem to be busy reaching out to their clients..

Cedric Muramutsa, the Commercial Manager of Petrocom, a local firm dealing in steel fabrications and petroleum products, said that like in the previous expos, his firm is expecting to benefit a lot from this one.

"The previous expos have enlarged our clientele. So far, many have started coming for information and others have bought our products,” Muramutsa said.

He added that at least a 15 percent increase in the sales is expected to be realized in this expo.

Felicien Nganji, a local ceramics manufacturer, says that he keeps coming every year to exhibit his products because his sales have been consistently going up, and he is highly optimistic that this year will be exceptional.

"My sales have been increasing since I started exhibiting here. I have already sold some products and had some people make orders,” disclosed the jolly ceramics dealer.
