After thrilling music lovers with his recent mixtape Trappish 2, renowned Rwandan rapper Ish Kevin has announced plans of dropping a new extended play (EP) dubbed ‘Long Way Up".

The forthcoming EP from the Drill, Hiphop and Trap specialist marks his fifth extended play following Drill Movement 1 that was released in 2021.

Alongside the album announcement, Ish also noted that he spent the last few weeks in Tanzania working on some of the projects that will appear on his new EP.

The EP, according to Ish, is a 4 track solo project produced in different kinds of genres that will be released before the year ends.

"This project means a lot to me because it’s my comeback after months without releasing,” he said adding, " the reason behind naming my new EP ‘Long Way Up’ is because it will take everyone listening to it through my journey from the beginning to where I want it to be. It’s one of the best projects I have ever produced in my life.”

The multiple award winning artiste also said that all four tracks on the EP have no features, and that they are produced by big producers locally.

Recently, the ‘Amakosi’ hitmaker appeared on R.M.H’s mixtape ‘Ndigukaba’ featuring Ririmba and Ehlers on a track-1 dubbed ‘Twari Broke’.

Ish Kevin rose to prominence after introducing UK drill in Rwanda and later formed a group of the drillers titled 'Trappish movement' which is taking Rwandan music to greater heights.

He was later ranked among the top 12 best African rappers in 2021 by the Native Mag and his single no cap ranked as the seventh hard drill song worldwide.
