THE TOUCH:

The hot season is here. We love it but our lips don’t adore it is as much. The dry spell doesn’t look as nice once it hits our lips leaving them all dry and cracky. To escape the effects of these dry spells, invest in lip gloss. It will leave your lips looking all lusciously healthy.

Lip gloss application seems so self explanatory but it is not always so.

It is a battle of colours, one that some people have failed at terribly.

While picking the right shade is as easy as going a couple shades darker than your natural lip colour, we can delve just a wee bit deeper in the science of shades and skin tone.

Women with fair skin, look great in lipstick shades such as nudes in a slightly apricot shade, pinks and light corals. Stay away from browns, which will appear blah.

Those with a medium skin tone can go a bit darker. You’ll look great in roses, mauves and berries.

Skip the bright reds and consider a deep burgundy instead.
Deep plum, chocolate or red is fabulous with dark or black skin.

According to the editors of Allure’s "Confessions of a Beauty Editor,” women with dark skin "can go in one of two directions: toward brown or purple.

Think caramel or walnut for day, and plum or wine for evening.”

In this hot weather, regardless of the colour mix and the luscious look you desire, ensure you use a lip gloss that will weather the weather! Good luck and enjoy the turn of heads…caused by your luscious lips. Mmm
