Japan embassy in Kigali

A delegation of Japanese officials from Tokyo is expected to hold a meeting with officials in the ministry of Foreign affairs on opening of a Japanese embassy in Kigali.

Currently, the Japanese embassy is based in Nairobi, Kenya and according to the officials; the new move is in the spirit of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Belgian envoy

An envoy from Belgium is expected to meet with the Eugene Munyakayanza, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.

The talks are expected to centre on the bilateral ties between the two countries as Belgium is one of Rwanda’s development partners.

Ex-PM Aide in court

Vincent Rubayiza, the former director general in the Prime Minister’s office is slated to appear before Gasabo Court of Higher instance to answer corruption related charges.

Together with a one Laurent Mugengana, the former senior government official is accused of having embezzled close to Rwf40 million.

RDB to provide business skills

Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has embarked on an entrepreneurship awareness programme to be carried out across the country.

According to a statement from RDB, "the sessions will mainly target young graduates and will benefit at least 300 of them from the 30 districts of the country.

30 per cent of the trainees are supposed to be female.
After the awareness session trainings will be organised for graduates with good project ideas.

BRD to donate

Rwanda Development Bank (BRD) is to donate Rwf 9 million to the one dollar campaign, as part of the on going exercise to raise money to provide shelter for orphans of the 1994 Genocide.

The money is supposed to be handed to officials from the Rwanda Diaspora Global Network today at the headquarters of the bank.

Centre for business solutions

MAXINET Group, a locally based firm has embarked on reaching out to SMEs to by creating a centre for business solutions which will provide different services.

The centre which was launched yesterday evening will have facilities like a business incubator, training facilities, access to finance and business development services.
The facilities are to be offered in partnership with IFC.
