After having been silent for so long, we now see Rwanda’s renowned traditional blues soloist Intore Massamba going international.

Recently, the star staged superb gigs in Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, and is now set to perform in South Africa.

Massamba is hired to perform along with Rwanda’s Rnb sensational singer Miss Shanel and the Rwandan Cultural Troupes, during the end of the fundraising process for "One Dollar Campaign”, on Saturday July 18.

Dady de Maximo Mitali’s film "By the shortcut” about the 1994 Rwanda Genocide against the Tutsi will also be screened during the event.

"We are very pleased that our fundraising evening is coinciding with the international day of celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela,” the Chairman of RSAA, Greg Mushyirahamwe said.

The fundraising concert is organized by the Rwandan Southern Africa Alliance (RSAA), supported by the Rwandan Embassy in Pretoria and sponsored by Rwandair and the Enterprise Urwibutso Nyirangarama.

It will be held in Sandton (north of Johannesburg), and at least 300 people are expected to attend.

The entrance fee is R100 (Rwf6,970), Rwandan products will also be sold at the event.

A fundraising event has also been planned, and a raffle tickets will be issued where a variety of prizes are expected to be won, including return flight tickets JHB-KGL, worth around R700 (Rwf48790) each.

"It is a good opportunity for everyone around here in Johannesburg to come and contribute to this noble cause of helping the orphans of Rwanda.” Mushyirahamwe said.
