Rwanda invited for CAA Super Grand Prix

RWANDA is one of the African countries that have been invited to participate in the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Super Grand Prix scheduled for July 18 in Abuja, Nigeria.

RWANDA is one of the African countries that have been invited to participate in the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Super Grand Prix scheduled for July 18 in Abuja, Nigeria.

The local athletics federation confirmed the development on Friday but they’re yet to confirm their participation.

The federation which has recently come under attack from the Sports Ministry and National Olympics Committee (RNOC) for not giving athletes adequate preparations ahead of international engagements is struggling to raise funds to field athletes in Abuja.

On top of the African countries, the likes of USA, Germany, England, France, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and Jamaica have also expressed their interest in taking part in the grand prix.

"We have received entries from managers of these top athletes since last weekend.
