Uganda has been affected by the problem of fake number plates which is distributed by unknown culprits through unidentified companies.

A number of vehicles and motorcycles have been discovered using the same number plates which is incredible. Some people have come out to blame Uganda revenue authority which is responsible for the monitoring of goods and services entering the Uganda.

This problem has been proved by the economists to be among the hindrances which are likely to affect the proper development of Uganda’s economy.

Many people have been detained and others including top government officials are being interrogated in possible authorities over the same case.

The little research that has been discovered shows that there some countries (Sudan and DR Congo) which are pinpointed for the distribution of these fake number plates to Uganda indirectly through conniving with unknown people.

So there is a big possible threat of circulating of these fake number plates to East African countries through using the same procedure especially Rwanda where this cancer has not been yet entered.

It has been proved beyond reasonable doubt that these number plates are so common in private owned vehicles especially small cars (land cruisers, the so called ‘my cars’ and others) where they can’t easily be observed.

So the ball is in Rwanda’s hands to be strict on all boarders to avoid this problem for the betterment of Rwanda’s economy.
