The draw ceremony for the Elite 16 Round of the Road to Basketball Africa League (BAL) will take place on Thursday, November 3, at FIBA Africa's office in Abidjan, Africa's basketball governing body announced on Monday, October 31.
The event will take place at 3 pm (GMT).
The announcement follows the conclusion of the Group Phase of Road to BAL, which saw eight teams from eight countries advancing to the decisive Elite 16 scheduled for November 2022.
Teams qualified from Groups A, B, C, and D, which competed in October in Antananarivo (Madagascar), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Niamey (Niger), and Yaounde (Cameroon), are: Bangui Sporting Club (Central African Republic), Nueva Era (Equatorial Guinea), Abidjan Basket Club (Cote d'Ivoire), Stade Malien Bamako (Mali), Urunani (Burundi), City Oilers (Uganda), COSPN (Madagascar), and Kenya Ports Authority (Kenya).
Those teams will join teams that competed in the 2022 edition of the BAL, namely Association Sportive Sale (Morocco), Cobra Sport (South Sudan, TBD), Forces Armes et Police (Cameroon), Cape Town Tigers (South Africa), Seydou Legacy Athletique Club (Guinea), and Ferroviario da Beira (Mozambique)
The Elite 16 Round is slated for November in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire and Johannesburg, South Africa.
