To mark the Liberation Day celebrations on July 4th, Rwanda’s youth together with Kigali City Council (KCC) cleaned the city pavements.
The pavements were painted all the way from Kigali International Airport in Kanombe to Kigali Serena Hotel.

Charles Rusimbe is in charge of youth associations and cooperatives in KCC. He says he appreciated the work of the youth and their successful exercise.

"Youth have sacrificed time because they love their nation. They have not waited to only celebrate but have actively participated in a positive way.”

Rusimbe said youth were involved in activities like sweeping, painting, planting trees where necessary and organising round-up meetings for network communication between KCC and the associations.

Kigali City Mayor Aisa Kirabo Kakira urged city residents to take part in keeping and maintaining the city’s image through cleaning their work place and homes.
