Liberation Poem

Let us All Take This Moment We walk with the past, eat with the past, and hate the past.Ohh...wait other times we recall the pastfor it is all stuck with uslike wood with glue.It has just been part of us everywhere we go,the past feels like the twin attached to our lives.Sometimes, the past is filled with great memoriesof joy and happiness shared with those we love.At times, it is a bucket, a big bucket filled withtears, sorrow, nightmares, and implacable loseto those we deeply cared about.

Let us All Take This Moment

We walk with the past,
eat with the past,
and hate the past.
Ohh...wait other times we recall the past
for it is all stuck with us
like wood with glue.
It has just been part of us everywhere we go,
the past feels like the twin attached to our lives.
Sometimes, the past is filled with great memories
of joy and happiness shared with those we love.
At times, it is a bucket, a big bucket filled with
tears, sorrow, nightmares, and implacable lose
to those we deeply cared about.

Can we delete the sad memories and recall what we want?
The past is undeleted, unwashed and not a piece of
trash to throw in a garbage whenever we want.
But there is something great we can do,
we can make the best out if it!!!
We can change the tears to smiles,
hate to peace and sadness to happiness.
Be strong, learn and take the next step...
Let’s look at the future with great perception.
Love flowing everywhere like water passing through the stream.

People opening their hands ready to help
Happiness, being our great source of Hope!
Let’s do this for our country
Let’s embrace the future
Lets create unbelievable change through our past
Ready, prepared with our hearts at rest.
Let’s all take this moment,
this moment only.
The journey to an amazing future,
Has just begun!
A great step for every Rwandese!
