Allan's Life Principles: Circumcision not the way to the father

The Holy Bible has the Old and New Testaments. The New Testament is the new covenant where accepting Jesus Christ as your personal saviour is the path to the Father. However, in the Old Testament, one had to be circumcised in order not to be termed a gentile.

In Acts 15, Paul and Barnabas disagreed with the preachers from Judea who were teaching that "Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

Acts 15:8 says, "God knows people’s hearts, and he confirmed that he accepts Gentiles (uncircumcised) by giving the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us.”

Acts 15:10 says, "So why are you challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers with a yoke (circumcision) that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear.

Acts 15:11 we believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord

In Genesis 17:1-2: circumcision was the sign of covenant by then BUT my dear brother if you notice that with the birth and resurrection of Jesus all the old covenants were overtaken.

Jesus set up new covenants which entails going through him to The Father. We no longer deal directly with God. We go through his son who pleads and intercedes for us.

Jesus being the go-between, we have been protected from a lot of wrath that the generation in the Old Testament faced because they didn’t have a go-between (Jesus) to plead to God.

The new covenant is you accepting Jesus in your life: faith & righteousness In Romans 2:17-28, you will notice that the uncircumcised gentiles who keep God’ law will condemn you Jews who are circumcised and posses God’s law but don’t obey it.

In otherwords obeying God’s word is what matters and not who is or is not circumcised.

According to Romans 4:11, " Circumcision was a sign that Abraham already had faith and that God had already accepted him and declared him to be righteous-even before he was circumcised”. So people are counted to be righteous because of faith and not circumcision.

1 Corinthians 7:19 says that ‘the important thing is to keep God’s commandments.’

You will only be saved when you accept Jesus as your personal saviour.
