RUN FOR DOLLARS: Joseph Kabagambe has parted company with Atraco. The Ex-Ugandan international midfielder signed for Sudanese side Al-Neel Fc on loan.

Khartoum, Sudan — Former Ugandan International Joseph Kabagambe threw the Atraco Fc camp in shock last evening as he sealed a deal with a Sudanese top side Al-Neel Fc.

The six-month loan deal ruled Kabagambe out of the Kagame Club Championships that kicked off last evening.

"Iam happy that after a lot of phone calls from my bosses in Rwanda, I was finally allowed to move. Let me try my chance here,” said Kabagambe.

The Hasahisa based club (100kms out of Khartoum) and placed third on the Sudan league table reportedly picked interest in the player after he scored a beautiful  goal in their 2-1 loss to El Merreikh in a Champions League return leg in Khartoum two months ago.

Although the deal had almost failed and the player almost failed to have lunch with his Atraco teammates, a go ahead clearance letter sent by mail by management of Atraco cleared the player.

Kabagambe reportedly had only two weeks left on his Atraco contract.

According to the Sudanese side, they are ready to give Atraco a Nigerian forward Abdul Karim Yekini in exchange.

"This is to inform you that after a lengthy discussion with in our board members, we have agreed that our player Joseph Kabagambe should be loaned to your club in exchange of a Nigerian player whom we are interested in. We give Kabagambe permission to discuss personal terms,” stated the Atraco release letter signed by Vice president Issa Ngeze that Times Sport saw at Palace Hotel.

Mr. Ahmed Muhamad Murlada, who handles transfers of foreign players signed on behalf of Al-Neel FC.

The move was also made possible after the Sudanese FA recently made changes on their rules to allow foreign players move in June and July instead of wait for December.

However, Atraco coach Sam Timbe was a disappointed man and said the player should have first accomplished the mission he came for in Sudan…the Kagame Club championship.

"Iam very disappointed with Kabagambe because I talked to him and advised him on how to go about it and first put-up a good show and attract better deals,” explained Timbe, the former SC Villa and Police coach in Uganda.
