New IT magazine unveiled

MEDIA - A new Information and Communication magazine The INDEX with a span of stories that exhibit Rwanda’s success in the IT sector has hit the streets of Kigali.
The 28-page magazine published by Media Consult a privately owned company in Kigali is expected to feature at the upcoming ITU conference scheduled to take place on 29-30th this month at Serena Hotel, Kigali.

"It’s a premier magazine in the country and most probably in the region; it will be bi- monthly,” the publisher of the magazine Issa Kainamura said on October 25.

"Our country has achieved a lot in the IT sector and we are proud of this, but we should make a step ahead and demonstrate to the entire world what we have achieved,” Kainamura said.

He said: "During the upcoming ITU conference, we intend to show how far we have gone in realising our goals of vision 2020; I believe participants will be impressed by this.”

He however added that more efforts are needed for the achievement of Rwanda’s vision, "the magazine is part of the contribution to have our vision achieved,” Kainamura asserted.

A press release issued by Media Consult after the release of the magazine states in part that ‘the magazine intends to significantly recognize all players involved in the technology industry to bring development in all areas of the society.

More so, TheINDEX will enlighten the general public on all the developments and ICT initiatives across the continent.’

The magazine circulation is 2,000 copies to the Rwandan market and 500 the rest of the East African
