…She was to storm Marcus’s office and find out what he was actually doing. In a blink of an eye she was down the garage and within seconds the engine of the Muso Sangyong was roaring. With her foot on the accelerating pedal she was out and down the street.

However, when she reached the city centre the thought of making a u-turn crept into her mind.

But this was not the time for debate. She had made a decision: to attack Marcus wherever he may be! The streets were deserted. Outside the Kigali casino, many posh cars lined the street with their owners gambling away inside.

At the bank, just across the road, where Zora worked, the parking lot was deserted save for the Managing Director’s limousine, at 1.00am and still in office! Zora felt lucky to be in the lower ranks if being at the top meant what she was seeing in the person of the MD.

Near the Post Office, the sidewalks were lined with prostitutes transacting business as usual; bent into windows of their prospective customers, negotiating prices.

Two homeless children, around the corner of the street were fighting over an empty paper box; this was their mattress and blanket! Whoever said life was fair did not have these kids in mind, like Mathew Connolly said "we don’t all make life’s pilgrimage on equal terms, for some the path is strewn with roses, others supplanted by a bed of nails”.

A mad man near the Kigali Business Centre was seated in a heap of rubbish- what he called his possession; he seemed to be enjoying the feeling for he smiled ear to ear.

For Zora, the experience managed to distract her from her problems for a moment. As she approached Marcus’s office she slowed down, turned off the engine as she moved down to the park yard.

As luck would have it, Marcus’s Evo 10 was still there. She moved up the stairs. She wanted to take the elevator but feared that it could alert the people in the office. She wanted to arrive incognito.

Because she was putting on Clarks, she did not have to worry about the noise from her footsteps. She moved up to the third floor where Marcus worked, the lights were on and the sound of two people talking sent her heart racing.

The sound was emanating from the office; there was no question about it. This greatly heightened her anxiety. "Was Marcus going out with another woman…?” Without ceremony, Zora kicked the door open. What hit her eyes was unbelievable.

Marcus was holding his secretary on his laps, seated on the sofa half naked! Zora looked on spell bound; Marcus did not move an inch. His secretary wanted to pull away but was held by Marcus. Zora’s eyes rolled backgrounds and she fell flat on her face.
