2010 WC/CAN qualifiers
Saturday June 6
Zambia v Rwanda

Sunday June 7
Algeria  v Egypt

Konkola stadium, the venue for Rwanda’s crunch away 2010 World/ African Nations Cup qualifiers against Zambia underwent intensive Fifa scrutiny yesterday.
The scrutinizing exercise is in line with Fifa’s effort to eradicate cases of stampedes at football stadiums. Konkola is the second stadium to be scrutinized just days after Malawi’s Kamuzu stadium.
The world football body recently told Malawian authorities to limit the crowd to 25,000 inside the 50,000-capacity Stadium when Malawi hosts Burkina Faso this Saturday.
Fifa is stepping up action after 19 fans died and more than 130 were injured in a crush at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan before Ivory Coast played Malawi back in March.
Meanwhile, Amavubi Stars are keeping their heads high ahead of Saturday’s tie. The wasps may have lost their warm up game against Malawi but reports from the Amavubi camp indicate that the team is gelling together and that the confidence is high.
The wasps are residing in Protea hotel in Chingola district. An away win for Amavubi will go along way to revive their hopes to qualify for next year’s World Cup in South Africa and African Nations Cup in Angola.
