Gasabo   1-0   Rubavu

Gasabo District beat Rubavu 1-0 to win this year’s Post Primary Schools football competitions which climaxed last Sunday in Rubavu District, Western Province.

Kayonza district took third place after their 2-0 win over Nyamasheke in the third-place play-off.

Gasabo received a cash prize of Rwf 1 million and all the teams which reached the semi-finals were given Rwf 500,000 each courtesy of the tournament sponsors, Bralirwa.

In a related development, two players flew to South Africa yesterday for a soccer clinic in Pretoria.

The duo; Jacques Cyubahiro and Idrissa Nsabimana flew out aboard Kenya Airways got the ticket after their outstanding performances in the just ended Post Primary competition.

"We selected them because of their good technical ability and their overall contribution in getting their teams to the finals,” said Aaron Rurangirwa, the technical director of the National Post Primary football competitions.

The clinic will last for two weeks. Cyubahiro featured for Gasabo while Nsabimana played for Rubavu.
