EMMANUEL Nsengamungu beat Marcel Byusa on count back to lift the May edition of the MTN monthly mug on Saturday.

Nsengamungu might have returned three birdies on the front nine but it was the birdie on the 11th hole that gave him the edge over a fighting Byusa.

The pair finished level on 73net but the former national team player beat Byusa by a stroke on the back nine to lift his maiden gong this year.

"It’s always great to win such a tournament. I didn’t expect to win when I walked onto the course this morning but I’m happy that I have and I’m looking forward to the June edition,” he said shortly after receiving the winner’s prize.

Phillip Jacob also continued his dominance in the second category (handicap 10-18) after playing two-under at the Par 72 Kigali Golf Course. The handicap 18 golfer has now won three in a row.

Linda Mugeni claimed the third category (handicap 19-28) after returning 71net.
