Fifa women instructor Monica Staab on Tuesday visited Aspej, one of the league’s top clubs as part of her month-long working visit in Rwanda.

After watching an exhibition match between two selects sides of Aspej football team, the German born Instructor hailed the great strides made by the government in developing sports in the country especially women football.

"I’m very happy with the way the government has supported and promoted sports in the Rwanda. Many neighboring countries don’t have women leagues yet Rwanda has one,” she noted. 

Staab is in the country to look at ways of promoting local women soccer. Aspej are fourth in the women soccer league with 16 points.

AS Kigali leads the table with 23 points, APR is second with 21 points and Musanze are third with 19 points.
