The three siblings who perished in a fatal car accident on Sunday will be laid to rest at Rusororo cemetery, Gasabo district on Wednesday, October 26.

The brothers were aged between 10-15 years and died on the spot. According to a family statement, the deceased are Joseph Fruit, Herve Sikubwabo Shami, and Honore Racine Sikubwabo.

They were the only children in their family and a family member who spoke to The New Times on Monday, October 24, said that the three siblings were in the company of their grandmother when the incident happened. She was critically injured.

While standing by the bus stop in Kanogo, a truck lost control along Yamaha-Kinamba road at around 5pm, before it experienced brake failure as it was sloping towards Kinamba from Yamaha in the Muhima sector of Nyarugenge District.

The family member described the kids as ‘playful’ and the ‘light of the room’ in most family events.

Meanwhile, the accident which took the lives of six people in total with several injured, police said, resulted from a truck that lost its brakes and rammed into another vehicle before rolling over the bridge.
