Jean Claude Gasigwa will take on top seed Martin Dzuwa in the final of the Confederation of African Tennis/ East African Kenya Money Circuit today at Nairobi Club.

Rwanda’s tennis ace saw off home boy Gilbert Kibet in three sets to book his place in the final, while the experienced Dzuwa needed only two to dispose off his compatriot Masimba Muchenje.

Gasigwa, 26 looked on course for a quick-fire victory over the Kenyan as he raced through the first set for the loss of just two games.

However, big-serving Kibet rallied and forced four break points on Gasigwa forcing the later to crack in the second set. But Gasigwa responded strongly and went on to break Kibet twice in the deciding set as he eventually closed out a 6-2 7-6 6-3 success in an hour and 45 minutes.

Ahead of today’s final, Gasigwa sounded worried after picking up an injury yesterday. "I felt some pain in my foot today but I’m happy I pulled through.

"I hope the pain easies because I still have some unfinished business,” he said after booking his final spot yesterday.

In the other semi-final, Dzuwa made light work of Muchenje after a 6-4, 6-3 straight set victory. Dzuwa progressed to the semi-finals after seeing off Rwanda’s Olivier Nkunda 7-6, 7-6 in the last eight.
