Different local tech companies that are taking part at the GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC) Africa 2022 are set to exhibit their products and network with different stakeholders and participants.

The MWC Africa 2022 kicked off on Tuesday, October 25, at Kigali Convention Center, bringing together a variety of industry sectors, business leaders and policymakers within Africa&039;s mobile ecosystem.

It will be the first in-person edition and will convene to discuss how technology and shared value have the power to drive economic growth for people and businesses across Africa.

Part of it is an exhibition that will see different tech and telco firms showcasing innovative products and technologies.

Emmanuel Nkurunziza, Founder and CEO of UrID Technologies is one of them.

He said that he will showcase the company’s product named ‘PalmKash’, a unified contactless payments platform.

Talking about his expectations from the exhibition, he said it is a good platform to network, trying to identify potential investors and customers.

"In such a form of setting, there is a whole package of investors looking for companies to invest in of which mine is included,” he said. "There are also potential clients that you can forge a partnership with. As a fintech company, we want to position ourselves and see any potential opportunity that’ll be there.”

Patience Bamusananire, Marketing and Public Relations Lead at Exuus, a fintech company on a mission to create ideally exciting, user-friendly, cost-effective and powerful products, said they are set to showcase their product named "SAVE”, among others.

Save app allows the unbanked people to save collectively and brings credit infrastructure to them.

Bamusananire said the firm is also set to showcase a micro-loaning scheme to serve the informal groups better, among other products since they have realised that there is a lot of potential in the informal sector.

FinTech, which is at the forefront of Africa’s digital transformation, is pioneering the availability of financial services and supporting financial inclusion of which Exuus is playing a part in.

"As one of the key players in the financial sector,” said Bamusananire, "during the MWC Africa 2022, we need to engage with different stakeholders, understand other digital operators and how they are playing a role in financial inclusion. We also want to explore other pillars that are driving digitization.”

Bamusananire also declared that they also want to engage and learn more about policy design and implementation for the private sector on a quest to grow the local financial sector than it is today.

MWC Africa 2022 is hosting more than 120 expert speakers and 60-plus hours of curated content. At least 2000 people are in Kigali for the congress. The congress will be concluded on October 27.
