The National Paralympic Committee is scheduled to host a regional sitting volleyball tournament dubbed ‘First Open Competition Cup in the Great Lakes’.

The event will be held at the NPC Gymnasium from July 21-27 and it is expected to attract teams from Uganda, Kenya, Burundi and Tanzania.

Despite staging several regional and international sitball competitions, it will be the first regional sitting volleyball competition of its kind to be staged in the country.

Ahead of the week-long event, the NPC president Dominique Bizimana has predicted a very competitive tourney because the top two teams will represent the Great Lakes region in the sitting volleyball World Cup scheduled for November in the USA.
