Rwanda Volleyball Federation has set an estimated Rwf.8 million to cover the facilitation of the 12th edition of the Genocide Memorial tournament set for June 5-7 in Kigali.

The federation Executive Director Gertrude Kubwimana said yesterday that this year’s tournament, is expected to attract regional countries will cost Rwf. 8 millions.

"The money will be used to facilitate all the activities of the two-day tournament,” Kubwimana said, adding that the event has already been boosted with sponsorship from CNLG and CSR.

The event is held to commemorate fallen volleyball players, coaches, referees and fans of the sport, who were massacred in the 1994 Tutsi Genocide.

The local volleyball federation expects clubs’ participation from Burundi, DR Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and hosts Rwanda.

Amahoro indoor courts and Kimisagara stadium will stage the event.
