A number of football leagues around the world have started for the new 2022/2023 season with others also scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.

It was a good weekend for Rwandan players abroad who have started their leagues as they put up impressive performances.

Midfielder Sven Kalisa set up a goal for Etzella in Luxembourg in his first league game whereas the likes of Steve Rubanguka and Joel Mugisha also excelled in their respective leagues.

Sweden

In the Swedish Superettan league, midfielder Rafael York was introduced in the 70th minute as his club Eskilstuna drew 2-2 with Orgyte

Elsewhere at the Gamla Ullevi stadium, Yannick Mukunzi was not in the Sandvikens IF team which walloped Sylvia IF by four goals to nothing as he is now recovering from knee injury.

Moldova

Towering guardsman Steve Rubanguka was a pillar in central defence for  84 minutes before being substituted as his side Zimbru Chisinau went away to draw goalless with Dinamo Auto

Denmark

In the Danish Superligaen, teenager Sanders Ngabo was an unused substitute for Lyngby who drew 3-3 with FC Midtjylland.

Norway

It was a goal feast for Bodo Glimt who walloped Odd by seven goals to nothing. Joel Mugisha saw 77 minutes of action for the winners.

Luxembourg

Central midfielder Sven Kalisa set up the first goal on his league debut for Etzella and played full time as they defeated Petange by two goals to nothing.

France

Teenage sensation Irvyn Lomami failed to make the Olympique Lyon squad which defeated Ajaccio 2-1 in the French Ligue 1.

England

In the premier league 2, both Noam Emeran and George Lewis Ishimwe were not involved as Arsenal walloped Manchester United 3-1.
