Big guns make semis

Defending champions APR, National University of Rwanda (UNR) and Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) all made light work of their opponents to make the semi-finals of the second phase of the 2009 National Volleyball League last Saturday.

Defending champions APR, National University of Rwanda (UNR) and Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) all made light work of their opponents to make the semi-finals of the second phase of the 2009 National Volleyball League last Saturday.

APR, who were seeded in Pool A came through unscathed after pulling off straight set victories over CXR, KIE and ISAE.

KVC and UNR also pulled through in Pool B and Pool C. St. Joseph Kabgayi claimed the final semi-final slot after seeing off GSOB and Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) in Pool D.

APR, who are gunning for their second phase win will now play Kabgayi in the semi-final slated for May 24. KVC lock horns with UNR in the other semi-final.

In the opening phase, Jean Luc Ndayikengurukiye’s APR humbled archrivals KVC with a 3-0 straight set victory
In the ladies fray, Rwanda Revenue Authority, UNR, APR and St. Joseph Kabgayi all made the semi-finals.
