RWANDA’S R&B STAR The Ben, alias Tigger B, has won the Best East African Artiste in Diaspora Award at the ‘East Africa Arts and Entertainment Awards’ (EAEA) 2022.

This comes after The Ben successfully put up big shows in the East African region following the release of his hit dubbed 'Why' featuring Diamond Platnumz.

The US-based singer becomes the first Rwandan artiste  to win the award. The awards ceremony was held on August 1, in Mombasa, Kenya.

Reacting to the development, The Ben said that the award comes as a big achievement in his music career, noting that it’s also a motivation to keep pushing Rwandan music to get to greater heights.

The  multiple award winning singer appreciated the support he is receiving from his fans which he believes will create more opportunities for not only him, but the whole Rwandan music industry.

Meddy, who is also among Rwandan musicians based in the US, won People’s Choice Award of the Year beating off competition from the likes of Ariel Ways, Marina, Juno Kizigenza.

Meanwhile, The Ben is  expected to land in Kigali this week ahead of his second homecoming concert that will be held on Saturday at BK Arena.
