DJ Noah Brown, a Rwandan EDM DJ, has been announced as one of the headlining acts for the on-going 2022 Tomorrowland Music Festival in Belgium. The Belgium-based disc jockey becomes the first Rwandan to perform at any event of the music festival known as the biggest and brightest Electronic Dance Music (EDM) international festival having clocked 400, 000 attendees in 2018.
During the first weekend of the festival that was held on July 16, Brown set alight the masquerade stage of the gathering session of the festival with his spinning skills on the decks.
Brown is also expected to perform at different events of the music festival during weekend two and three, sharing the stage with renowned EDM disk jockeys like Major Lazer, Marshmello, Dimitri Vegas, Martin Garrix, Timmy Trumpet, among many others.
Speaking to Weekender, the disc jockey welcomed the development, stating that it’s a big move in his music career playing at Tomorrowland as it has always been his dream to perform at one of the world’s biggest EDM festivals.
Adding to that, Brown noted that playing at Tomorrowland isn’t only an achievement, but a win for the whole Rwandan music industry, urging more upcoming DJs and artistes to jump on the EDM genre that is still lacking a big audience in Rwanda.
"It is only the second weekend of the festival and the love for my music is crazy. To the young Rwandan musicians trying to do house and electronic, it is possible,” he says.
Brown also unveiled plans to sign a contract of partnership with one of the best EDM disc jockeys in Holland, and also started a big EDM movement in Rwanda.
Tomorrowland is an electronic dance music festival hosted in Boom, Belgium. It was first held in 2005 and has since become one of the world’s largest and most notable music festivals. It now stretches over three weekends and tickets usually sell out in minutes of being released.

Born and raised in Rwanda, Noah started spinning decks in 2015, until he relocated to China in 2017, where he started using turntables and mixing electronic dance music.
He was discovered by K-Ray, a top EDM deejay in China whom he described as inspirational, humble, and legendary. Brown started getting gigs in different cities of China including ISY fest until he returned to Rwanda in 2020.
He spent over one year without playing in pubs and clubs when afro-beat and hip-hop had taken over Rwanda’s music scene. He relocated to Europe in 2021 where he is pursuing his music career and playing at big stages such as Tomorrowland music festival and others.
