How organisations can benefit from outcome-oriented culture

It doesn’t matter what kind of approach an organisation may use, as long as they achieve a well-defined business outcome. Some will choose to focus on the marketing side of the business or service delivery, or any other they believe will be result oriented.

Outcome-oriented culture is defined as the metrics used to emphasise actions and results with premier expectations for great performance, Fred Hirwa, CEO of creative agency- So far Creative ltd.

Hirwa says, granting a big part of a good culture is left to the owners of the companies; employees have a great role to play, since they are the people that execute the culture.

"First, both managers and employees must engage in honest discussions on what matters the most, in terms of results oriented, how to get it done and elaborate what potential stakeholders need to approach for better outcome,” Hirwa says.

He adds that, frank discussions will not randomly happen, when the work environment is not safe for the employees, and this starts with proper recruitment.

"This has been said several times, companies should make sure in recruitment process, to shortlist people who really fit for the position and will enhance the growth of the company,” Hirwa says.

He further notes that, right employees will not only present the papers, but also how they approach the questions popped to them and the gesture of their communication and the discipline they have towards success. "This will lead to a greater environment of the workplace, not leaving results-oriented culture in the organization.”

According to Alphrodis Nsabimana, communication specialist, the company’s purpose is to profit from its operation.

"The company must understand the needs of the consumers and analyse them before implementation because they are sometimes good and logical.”

He adds that, you may not be able to execute all the customers’ needs because some will need free things and they might not care about what you have done for free or at a loss.

Nsabimana further says, the best way to convince customers to be result oriented as stakeholders of your business, you need to adopt a culture of meeting them, and this may be through arranging either a desk for consumers, Q&A system, dinner party, among others. This may as well happen to your employees, as a way of boosting their morale, for better productivity.

Solange Umurerwa, an accountant, says if you are well oriented about what your company stands for, you may be sure to know what areas to concentrate on.

"Am sure a stable mental wellness of your employees will contribute to the success because employees who are stable mentally are more productive and less sick,” Umurerwa says.

She adds that the culture of recognising well performers amongst the teams also boosts the productivity, because everybody wants to upgrade in terms of greater positions and salary.

"The culture of enhancing your company’s brand on social media may also be a great idea for best outcome-oriented culture, only if social media is well handled and you are sure you are doing great things, no hyping. This acts as the best way of marketing your brand and attracting new potential customers to your business.”
