The first half of 2022 has seen many rising stars in Rwanda strengthen their place in the charts with some exquisite work. From Confy, Zilha, Ariel Ways to Babo, we bring you a list of some singles and music videos released over the past few weeks that are trending on online streaming platforms.

‘Yogati’ - Babo ft. Bruce Melodie

After making a great comeback with ‘Lose You’ which featured Ariel Ways, Babo has surprised her fans with ‘Yogati’, a new banger driving the party life of Kigali.

The appearance of a renowned singer like Bruce Melodie on the song and a touch of Element Pro is a clear sign that the track will go places. The afro-beat jam has over 200, 000 streams on YouTube and Spotify within one week.

‘Salute’ - Kivumbi King

Kivumbi King, one of the best lyricists in Rwanda, is back with a club jam. Produced in a fusion of dancehall and reggaeton, ‘Salute’ is making rounds and has already been nicknamed as the summer anthem of Kigali.

The fast rising rapper’s career is skyrocketing more than ever since he dropped ‘Madam’, a track that ensured his breakthrough in Rwanda’s music industry. The single can be streamed on different online platforms including YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify.

‘Good Luck’ - Ariel Wayz

Since she went solo, Ariel Wayz has shown talent through her single tracks and the recently released ‘Good Luck’ just proves it. The upcoming female vocalist is trending in Rwanda after dropping the track on her socials.

Directed by Gad and produced by Santana, the love song premiered on all streaming platforms on June 17,  and now has over 400, 000 views on YouTube.

‘Kucyaro’ - Masteak

The fast-rising singer is making headlines with his recently released music video dubbed ‘Kucyaro’ which has unique lyrics that narrate the thug life of Kigali.

Produced by Bobly and directed by Eazy Cut, the single has attracted thousands of music lovers who are using it in TikTok challenges.

Real name Nesta Prince Zitoni Bahizi, the artiste is also on a music tour by the same name, ‘Kucyaro’.

‘Sori’ - Confy

After ‘Igikwe’, ‘Mali’ and ‘Jowana’, Confy is not resting and has already dropped two hits in one month including ‘Sori’. The new afro-beat song was produced by Genius Beats and Pastor, one of the best music producers in Rwanda.

‘Sori’ dropped last week and can be streamed on different online platforms including Audiomack, Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.

‘Twubahwe’ Remix - Zilha ft. all stars

The young artiste behind ‘Zararyoshye’ has bounced back in the industry with a new song that features young trappers and drillers including Ish Kevin, Bushali, B-Threy, Kenny k-shot, and Mapy.

‘Twubahwe’ is produced by Awavy in the drill genre with catchy lyrics that urge Rwandan society to respect young musicians in the rap genre.

‘Easy’ - Emmy

After his wedding to Joyce Umuhoza, the US-based Rwandan musician is back with a banger. ‘Easy’ is already making headlines since it premiered last week and has won the attention and admiration of many music lovers. It is produced by Bob Pro in the afro-beat genre.
