JAMES Ruhumuriza, better known by his stage name King James, is set to upload his seventh album ‘Ubushobozi’ for wider viewing on YouTube after grossing over Rwf66 million on his own streaming side, Zana Talent, since December last year.

While unveiling Zana Talent in early December 2021, the R&B star announced that his latest album would go for Rwf5, 000 and would only be accessed via the streaming platform.

Explaining the purpose of his streaming site, the ‘Ndagukunda’ hit-maker highlighted that he wanted to create a new avenue for Rwandan artistes to monetise and make a living from their art without necessarily relying on international platforms.

Six months after dropping the album, King James says that he has sold 13,347 copies, amounting to roughly Rwf66m. The singer says it is a milestone to celebrate because it was a new way of doing business for him and it worked out.

The artiste, however, says he is now considering sharing the 17-track album on his YouTube channel and other freely accessible platforms so that even the fans who could not afford it on Zana Talent are able to enjoy it.

"Some people were not able to buy the album but wanted to listen to it, the time has come for them and my album will be released in a few days on YouTube. As of June 24, 2022, the entire album will be available on public platforms,” says King James.

Tracks on the album include; ‘Ubanguke’, ‘Ndagukumbuye’ ft Ariel Wayz, ‘Ubushobozi’, ‘Ubudahwema’, ‘Habe Namba’, ‘Uhari Udahari’, ‘Uyu Mutima’, ‘Nyabugogo’, ‘Reka Gukurura’, ‘Kimbagira’, ‘Nyishyura Nishyure’, ‘Ikiniga’, ‘Nzakuguma Iruhande’, ‘Pinene’ ft Bull Dogg, ‘Hinduka’ and ‘Incuti Magara’ ft Israel Mbonye.
