It is safe to say we are past the era when music lovers had to wait for months on end before their favourite artiste dropped the next hit. With the proliferation of music production houses and a surge in the number of rising musical talent, more hits are dropping day by day and the month of May was no exception, as it saw various local musicians out hit singles, while others opted for rare collabos that left fans yearning for more. Here’s our round-up of the best tracks and music videos released in the past few weeks that received extensive airplay on radio and TV.

‘Fake Gee’ - Alyne Sano

Alyne Sano is back! This time the celebrated female artiste gave her fans a taste of rap music in her trending hit dubbed ‘Fake Gee’.

The song which is produced in a fusion of hip-hop and trap highlights hardships in relationships of Kigali. It was produced by Prince Kiizi alongside Kigali’s finest sound engineer Bob Pro.

‘Ndarura’ - Juno

Juno is no stranger to bangers since his first release in 2020. After releasing a snippet that trended on different social media platforms, the fast-rising artiste finally dropped ‘Ndarura’ which was later nicknamed summer anthem.

After only seven days since it premiered, ‘Ndarura’ is now among the top 10 Rwandan songs trending on local airwaves with over 200, 000 views on YouTube. The track was produced by Element and Mastered by Bob Pro.

‘Inana’ - Chris Eazy

From ‘Fasta’ to ‘Amashu’ and now ‘Inana’, we can finally admit that Chris Eazy is a hit-maker. The fast-rising afro-beat artiste who is best known for his tag, ‘a lit one’, is now making headlines after dropping another banger titled ‘Inana’. Its video has attracted the public’s attention over how the dance crew appears in skirts.

The track was produced in the afro-pop genre by Element and Bob Pro.

‘Clout’ - Ish Kevin

The appearance of two big names on this track is what makes it a big deal. Africa’s finest Rapper, Ycee, alongside Rwanda’s best driller, Ish Kevin, hit the studio and blessed music lovers with ‘Clout’, a track which is now at the top of all drill songs in the country.

The track first appeared on Ish Kevin’s mixtape and its recently released video is the reason behind its boost. It was directed by Rwanda’s best videographers Cedric Dric and Easy Cut.   

‘My Day’ - Symphony ft. Bwiza

Since last week, ‘My day’ which features Bwiza and one of the best bands in the country, Symphony, is still dominating other Rwandan tracks on streaming platforms like Spotify and YouTube. The collabo came after the fast-rising female artiste introduced herself in the local music industry with a track dubbed ‘Ready’, which is also trending.

‘My Day’ was produced by producer It’s The Major and directed by Gad and now has over 100, 000 views on YouTube.
