The Restaurant

At Hilltop restaurant, the main courses of the day include breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in between that go through out the day to late evening.

Menu

Breakfast is simply categorised into Continental and American services. Hot beverages include African and English tea, hot chocolate and coffee with fresh milk from Rwandan cows.

This comes with Omelette; natural or pan-fried with fresh tomatoes and onions, Spanish omelette, ham and cheese omelette, omelette with mushroom and special omelette.

A toast of bread, croissant, brioche, spaghetti bolognaises and spaghetti carbanara accompany the Omelette. The restaurant serves a buffet that includes all continental and African dishes.

Hot and Cold Starters: these come with various soup mixtures of vegetables, mushroom, chicken, rolled ham with vegetable, hilltop salads and mixed salads.

Main dishes include: Beef steak glazed in red wine with mushroom sauce, beef fillets seasoned with green pepper and salted pork chops.

Chicken with herbs, salted chicken with garlic and creame, chopped chicken with mushroom sauce and boneless chicken with curry sauce.

Tilapia fillet with lemon juice, tilapia fillet cream with mushroom wine, and Capitaine fillet with green pepper. All this is accompanied with white rice, tomato rice, rice with vegetables, French fries, boiled potatoes, salted potatoes, banana, posho and seasoned vegetables.

Desserts: Plat of fruit, fruit salad, pan cakes, banana flambé, toast bread in sugar egg and Irish coffee.

Specialite Rwandaise: Igisafuriya served to a big group of visitors, contains a mixture of various food stuffs. Agatogo is mainly banana served with beans or offals to early timers who wish to start the day on a heavy meal.

Snacks: Hamburgers, meat bolls, goat and fish served with chips and salads. Whole chicken and fish come in sizes big enough for those with appetites gifted by nature.

The Bar

Revellers are treated to both local and imported stuffs that include spirits, wines, beers and other quality liquors. The hotel also provides a digital satellite television receiver from which clients are able to choose a variety of channels. The venue organises special weekend events including concerts and cinema shows at the hotel conference hall.

Clientele: Includes both natives and international travellers who enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the ever-green gardens.

The prices:

Compared to the ordinary person’s earnings, Hilltop prices may appear discriminative. For a standard Breakfast one needs to part with Frw2500. The buffet goes for Frw3500 and Agatogo Frw2000.

Snacks range from Frw1500 to Frw5000 while beverages are served at Frw400 for Sodas and Frw1000 to Frw1500 for beers. Big groups can be treated to the traditional Igisafuriya that goes for Frw8000.
