Kigali comedy lovers are bracing for fresh jokes from some of the finest comedians from Rwnda and Africa ahead of the highly-anticipated Seka Live show slated today, May 29, at M-Hotel.

Organised by Arthur Nation, the annual comedy event hasn't happened for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

South African comedian Loyiso Madinga is in town to join Zimbabwean Carl Joshua on stage as the duo prepares to crack  the ribs of Kigali comedy enthusiasts.

A long list of local comedians led by tonight's show host Arthur Nkusi are expected to perform.

Nkusi, a household name in the local comedy industry, said he can't wait to see Rwandans laughing again and believes people can only expect tight laughter from a series of performers on the lineup.

Apart from Madinga and Joshua, the comedian also invited local comedians with  various concepts to join so they can reawaken comedy that was there before the pandemic.

Some comedians to expect include Patrick Rusine, Fally Merci and rising stars under his growing concept 'Generation Z'.

The 'Bigomba Guhinduka' crew of comedy duo 5k Etienne and Japhet Mazimpaka are also expected to perform tonight, their first time performing at Seka Live show since its inception in 2018.

"The majority of local comedians we have on the lineup have their own comedy platforms and each has their own audience. I invited them to my show because we are in this together," Nkusi said.

"We haven't performed for sometime, the industry was almost down but I believe we can bring this back together as well. Loyiso is coming, Carl is here and we can't wait to put on the show after almost a three-year hiatus,"he added.

Entry tickets to the show, which kicks off at 6pm, are available via www.rgtickets.com at Rwf 10, 000 and Rwf 15, 000 for ordinary and VIP seats
