Bank of Kigali awarded the best performers at Catholic Institute of Kabgayi Graduation, to support them in their next endeavors.

Bank of Kigali on Thursday last week took part in the 10th graduation ceremony of the Catholic Institute of Kabgayi (ICK).

This was in a glamorous ceremony attended by different dignitaries from the government, education institutions, parents, students and graduands.

Bank of Kigali awarded the best performers to support them in their future professional and academic endeavours.

The awarded students were two female graduates of education majoring in French and English.

They are Tharcisee Musesayose who scored 89.62 marks and Claudine Uwizeyimana who scored 83.3 marks. Each was awarded Rwf1 million.

"It aims at saluting the efforts of the students and empowering them in their next chapter of life that they are about to start,” explained Jean de Dieu Habanintwari, BK’s Regional Branch Manager. "Providing them with these funds pushes them to become job creators instead of job seekers and motivates other students to aim higher in their academic endeavours.”

He moved on to explain: "If they aim higher while they are still in schools, the same energy will be used in their daily lives, and they will adopt that culture to develop the nation too.”

Tharcise Musesayose hailed BK and revealed that she will use the money to pursue her post-graduate studies.

"I am grateful for BK…this will allow me to start my master’s degree very soon and upgrade from a secondary school teacher to a university lecturer,” stated Musesayose who teaches at Groupe Scholaire Gitarama.

Claudine Uwizeyimanam who is also a teacher at Groupe Scholaire Ruyanza in Kamonyi district also thanked BK.

"I am really overjoyed. I will use these funds to further my studies to advance my career,” she said.

Bank of Kigali also awards best performers from other higher learning institutions like the Adventist University of Central Africa and INES Ruhengeri among others.

In addition to education support, BK has other activities under its Corporate Social Responsibility.

They include infrastructure development, health, gender empowerment and poverty alleviation among others.

At least 1 per cent of the Bank’s profit is allocated to CSR activities.
