Police FC head coach Francis Nuttall Elliot will be looking to get past La Jeunesse in the second round of the 2022 Peace Cup tournament on Tuesday afternoon.

The 2015 Peace Cup winners will take on the second-tier side at their ground at Kigali stadium at 6pm seeking to seal a place in the quarterfinals.

Police have been struggling in the league and are in sixth place with 35 points, 16 points adrift of top-placed APR.

Coach Nuttall said: "We want to go all the way to the final. It’s almost impossible now to catch APR and Kiyovu for the league title, so we are focused on finishing in top places in the league and winning the Peace Cup, and I believe we can achieve that.”

Police FC was held to a 2-all draw by second division side La Jeunesse in the first leg while in other matches Gasogi United will visit Sunrise at Nyagatare Stadium, both sides played a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Kigali.

Kiyovu Sports who beat Marine FC 1-0 will be looking to book a place in the quarterfinals while Bugesera FC will host Gicumbi FC after playing a goalless draw in the first leg.

AS Kigali won the tournament the last time it was held in 2019 after edging SC Kiyovu 2-1 in the final.

The winner of the Peace Cup automatically secures a ticket to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The competition will be played over two legs until the semi-final stage where eventual winners will face off in the final to determine the winner, who will go on to represent Rwanda in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
