After eliminating topflight league side Espoir in the Peace Cup, La Jeunesse head coach Florien Rudasingwa has promised to turn his team into an ‘attacking’ side that dominates possession.

La Jeunesse, who had beaten Espoir 3-2 in the first leg, ousted the Rusizi-based outfit 4-3 on aggregate after the two sides played out a 1-all draw in the return leg on Wednesday.

"Eliminating a top division team is a great motivation for us. It will help us improve in the next (Peace Cup) round, and in the second division league,” said Rudasingwa.

"We want to play football that the players enjoy and excite the fans to get up on their feet. That’s where we want to take the team – attacking and maintaining ball possession.”

In other matches, Marines eliminated Nyanza 2-0, Bugesera sent UR FC packing 9-0, Etincelles progressed with a 3-2 aggregate win over Rutsiro, while Gasogi United saw off Heroes 5-2 over two legs.

Peace Cup is the second biggest club competition in Rwanda, and winners of the annual showpiece represent the country in the Caf Confederation Cup.
