Gospel music fans have something to look forward to as the much awaited praise and worship gathering dubbed ‘Africa Lets Worship’ (AFLEWO), returns to Kigali after being postponed last year due to Covid-19 measures.

Under the theme ‘Enter with the Password’ delivered from Psalms 100:4, the renowned gospel event will take place at Christian Life Assembly church in Nyarutarama today.

This year’s edition will see different gospel stars under AFLEWO mass choir perform alongside Israel Mbonyi and Aime Uwimana, some of the best gospel musicians in the country.

Kenneth Kalisa, the music director of AFLEWO Rwanda, says that this year’s edition will be different because it is coming at the right time, as gospel music lovers have missed it.

"It has been almost two years without AFLEWO taking place, and its return is good news to the whole gospel music industry,” Kalisa says, adding, "This edition will be an amazing night of deep worship with a united front of worship leaders from many local churches in Rwanda, as well as a special moment of prayer for our country after hardships that were caused by the pandemic.”

AFLEWO is an annual interdenominational all-night worship that brings together people from all walks of life. It was initiated in 2004 by Daystar University’s Sing Africa Alumni, with the aim of having a night of worship once a year. The platform currently operates in seven cities within the region.

Apostle Sosthene Serukiza will be the main preacher of the praise and worship night which will start at 5pm and end at midnight.

All Covid-19 measures will be observed at the venue of the concert.
