Saturday, March 05, 2022

Tanzanian gospel artiste Rose Muhando arrived at Kigali International Airport on the evening of Friday, March 4 where she is expected to grace a local gospel music awarding gala.

She will be performing this Sunday on the sidelines of Gospel Music Union that will recognize outstanding projects of the selected gospel artistes in the to-be concluded "Rwanda Gospel Stars Live” contest.

Jetting in at the airport last night, Muhando did not comment much on the concert, but just asserted that she is cooking more for her music lovers.

The Nibebe hit maker will be flanked by several performances from Rwandan artists who have a well-to-do name in the gospel industry.

These include Israel Mbonyi, James and Daniella Rutagarama, Gaby Kamanzi, Aline Gahongayire, Serge Iyamuremye as well as True Promises and Gisubizo ministries among many others.

In previous interviews, concert organisers had said Rose Muhando was the best choice to perform for the Christian audience which has been missing live concerts due to the persistent pandemic.

This will be among the first physical gospel concerts held after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Rwanda.

The 46-year old Tanzanian artiste last performed in Rwanda in 2013, where she performed for Christians during her four-day evangelical conference held in Northern Province.

She made a name for herself since 2005 with popular songs like ‘Nibebe’, ‘Utamu wa Yesu’, ‘Uinuliwe Baba’, ‘Unipe Uvumilivu’, ‘Nipishe Nipite’ and ‘Jipange Sawa Sawa” among many others.

In 2011, she signed a contract with Sony Music.
