Cheikh Sarr, the national basketball team head coach, has added America-based center Kendall Lamar Gray to his roster ahead of the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers that get underway on February 25 through 27.

Gray, 29, holds American citizenship but recently acquired the Rwandan one too.

According to Sarr, Gray is already in camp with the rest of other national team players in Senegal where the qualifiers will be taking place.

At club level, Gray plays for JS Kairouan in the Tunisian top division league

He played college basketball for Delaware State University, being named the 2014–15 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year, becoming the fourth selection in school history to earn the honor.

After going undrafted in the 2015 NBA draft, Gray signed with Medi Bayreuth of the Basketball Bundesliga in 2015.

In 2016, he parted ways with Medi Bayreuth and was acquired by the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League but didn’t play for them.
