Kiyovu face Gorilla in dicey duel
Saturday, February 12, 2022

Title contenders Kiyovu Sports will lock horns with Gorilla FC in an intriguing encounter on Saturday afternoon.

The game is very dear to both teams as Kiyovu are hoping to catch up with APR FC who have opened a five-point gap lead at the top whereas Gorilla FC are also looking to amass all the maximum points to lift themselves from the relegation zone.

Gorilla have achieved some memorable results which includes holding Rayon Sports to a 1-1 draw as well as going away to beat Espoir 2-0 and they will be looking forward to adding the Green Baggies to their list of casualties.

Kiyovu on the other hand are second on the league log with 29 points from fifteen games and have not been convincing in their last three games as they drew with Etoile, beat Espoir and lost 1-0 to Marines FC.

Ishimwe Saleh, who operates in the heart of midfield for Kiyovu Sports anticipates a tough game against Gorilla who are positioned at the foot of the table.

"It will be a difficult game because we are hoping to win the trophy this season, whereas Gorilla also want to stay in the Premier League so they are coming all out. This makes the game an uneasy one." Saleh told Times Sport.

"It is also the first game of the second team and every team wants to start on a good note so it is a different ball game altogether."

A lot will depend on Burundian striker Abedu Bigirimana if Kiyovu are to pick all the maximum points. The attacker has netted six goals and has been vital to the fortunes of the club this campaign.

Again, new signing Fred Muhozi may also be thrown in the fray to do the magic for the Green Baggies if things get tough.

The home side will bang on their hopes of their two Nigerian imports namely striker Johnson Adaega and winger Ikenna Duru. On any good day, this duo can torment any back four in the league.

Kiyovu is the strongest side to pick the three maximum points but they could be held by a determined Gorilla FC side.
