Davydenko, one of the founders of music production in Rwanda has opened his first studio dubbed 3D Records.

Born Asharaf Davy, Davydenko started the making of music with the likes of Meddy, The Ben, K8 kavuyo, Tuff Gang, some of the iconic artistes that merged modern genres in Rwanda, and is now targeting the new generation in music.

Talking with The New Times, Davidyanko said that the studio had already started working but this year it aims to go public and start working as an active studio and record label  making hits.

So far he has signed two renowned Rwandan artistes, Peace Jolis and Saxon, with the target to sign more than two others  next month.

"3D has been there for over 3 years but this time we are going to start working professionally and help Rwandan music go to another level,” he said

3D Records returned in the industry with the release of Saxon’s Ep titled Ndimo Neza, which is taking Kigali by storm due to its collabos that have big names in the industry like Ariel Ways and Bulldog.

To Davydenko, the main purpose of his label is no other than making good music which will raise the music industry and increase its global market.

"I have been here for a long time but making good music never stops. It’s all about keeping the legacy of the music we made back in the days when we were few in the industry.”

"Let’s keep it moving,” he added.

Davidyanko also revealed that his studio targets on raising Amapiano, a sub-house genre taking over globally, in Rwanda.

Based on the hits 3D Records made in the past few years like ‘Un Million’ by Peace Jolis and the recently released Amapiano hit, Korrect, it’s safe to say that the record label is here to stay and shine.

Some of the recent tracks produced in 3D include some on Saxon’s Ep like ‘Muri Town’, ‘Ndimo Neza’, ‘Taki’, ‘Flex’ among others.
