The year 2022 will be action-packed in the world of football and there are many young Rwandan footballers abroad who have placed themselves in pole positions to excel and draw attention within the coming 365 days.
Times Sport has identified a host of talented Rwandan players to look out of for and here are five who are 23 years and below, to look out for.
5- Nishimwe Beltran Mvuka (Sotra SK, Norway)
The enterprising holding midfielder was in fantastic form for in the Norwegian third tier league this ended season as he netted 7 goals in seventeen games for his side.
Nishimwe has been touted as a complete footballer with a huge talent who has the tendency to excel in his career. From the look of things and the numbers he raked this ended season, it is evident that he will move to an upper division.
The 23 -year-old enforcer was born to Rwandan parents in Norway and previously played for Academica in Portugal.
4-Tuyishime Byamana (Manukau United, New Zealand)
Byamana was one of the key players in the set up of Manukau United after being signed from Western Springs United in June United.
The 20-year-old central midfielder remains a favourite of manager Rudolf Mozyr as he was fielded for the side 13 times before the league ended.
He was born to Rwandan parents in Wellington and is currently one of the best young players in New Zealand.
3- Yves Mitsindo (KV Mechelen, Belgium)
Mitsindo has been the engine of the KV Mechelen Under 21 team since been signed from Charleroi in the summer of 2020.
The versatile midfielder has already played ten times for the Belgian Under 15 and Under 16 teams but recently stated that he wants to feature for the Amavubi of Rwanda.
The 19-year-old star is destined for greatness and looking at his output in the youth league, he could find his way into the Mechelen senior team by the end of this season.
2-Sanders Ngabo (Lyngby, Denmark)
At just 17 years, Ngabo is already playing at a good level which is the Danish second tier league and has been in fine form.
He was promoted to the Lyngby senior team from the Under 19 on August 2, 2021 and has already played ten league games scoring one goal.
Aside his central midfield role, Ngabo can also operate on the wings and also as an offensive midfielder.
He was born in the Danish City of Sunby to Rwandan parents on July 4, 2004.
1. Joel Mugisha ( Bodo/Glimt, Norway)
The best Rwandan young player out there in Europe. At just 19 years, he has seen it all as he has featured in UEFA Champions League qualifiers as well as the Group stage of the Europa Conference League for his Norwegian club.
Mugisha who plays as a winger but can also operate in midfield made a total of 31 appearances in all competitions for his club in the just ended season netting three goals.
