Airtel Rwanda has announced a new promotional drive, when they rolled out 4G packs that will be available for all Airtel Rwanda customers with phones that are compatible with the technology.

The announcement was made by Emmanuel Hamez, the Managing Director of Airtel Rwanda at the telco’s stand in the ongoing Expo Rwanda 2021 in Gikondo, Kicukiro District.

According to Hamez, that their 4G bundles will be the cheapest on the market and can be accessed by dialling *255*2*.

"For example, we are going to offer 30 GB for only Rwf16,000 while it was more than Rwf50,000. This is a very big move and just a sign of preparation for Airtel Rwanda to go to the 4G world,” he said.

"There are many other announcements that we are going to make on 4G. We are working with the authorities to really improve the 4G penetration.”

Hamez added that Airtel Rwanda’s 3G network is already the best as they have 800 sites all over the country and cover 95% of the population

He cited on another running offer, "You Deserve More” which they rolled out at the beginning of November where they are giving 50% 3G data bonus for any weekly or monthly data bundle a customer purchases, adding that it can be accessed by dialing *255*2#.

He also talked about the "Enjoy Double” promotion where an Airtel Rwanda customer gets instant 100% bonus on every airtime recharge with Airtel Money. To enjoy the promo, a customer dials *182*2# and follow the instructions.

Hamez also reminded Airtel Rwanda customers that transferring money from one mobile phone to another via Airtel Money is free.

He said that Airtel Rwanda has been a little bit slow in the last two years due to Covid-19 but it is back in the game with the three offers to its customers, with more to come.

The upcoming 2022, he continued, will be the Airtel year and all the offers and subscriptions will certainly go faster than the Covid.

Regarding 4G, Airtel Rwanda customers will be able to buy 4G bundles of 30GB at only Rwf16,000, a 5GB bundle at Rwf3,500 valid for 30 days, a 1GB bundle valid for seven days going for Rwf1,600.

The firm will also be offering an "ultra-low-cost" bundle for 500 MB that will cost Rwf600.
