SC Kiyovu may lose Ugandan attacker Emmanuel Okwi in the impending January 2021 transfer window as a move back to Tanzania beckons.

Weekend Sport can confirm that it was enshrined in the player’s one-year contract that any time he gets a deal outside the country, Kiyovu would release him at any given time.

According to close sources in Tanzania, Simba SC are ready to bring Okwi and another former player, Clatous Chama, who plays for RS Berkana back to the club as they seek to strengthen their team for the domestic title chase and the ongoing 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup.

Young Africans, Simba SC bitter rivals, are also monitoring his situation as they have a spot for one more striker on their roster and could swoop for him in the upcoming transfer window.

Okwi, 28, attained cult status at both Young Africans and Simba, and is widely considered as one of the best foreign players to ever grace the Tanzanian league.

He joined Kiyovu in October and has just started just one Rwandan Premier League game.

Okwi is the captain of the Ugandan national team, also known as Uganda Cranes.
