R&B MUSICIAN King James has announced that the release of his seventh album ‘Ubushobozi’ is scheduled for December 12.

The 17-track album comes after months of recording and shooting videos of the songs.

The ‘Ubushobozi’ album tracklist include ‘Ejo’, ‘Ubanguke’, ‘Ndagukumbuye’ ft Ariel Wayz, ‘Ubushobozi’, ‘Ubudahwema’, ‘Habe Na Mba’, ‘Uhari Udahari’, ‘Uyu Mutima’, ‘Nyabugogo’, ‘Reka Gukurura’, ‘Kimbagira’, ‘Nyishyura Nishyure’, ‘Ikiniga’, ‘Nzakuguma Iruhande’, ‘Pinene’ ft Bulldogg, ‘Hinduka’ and ‘Inshuti Magara’ ft Israel Mbonyi.  

The album will be out in both audio and videos among which were shot and directed by Producer and director Lick Lick when the singer travelled to the United States in May.

All but two songs, ‘Ndagukumbuye’ ft Ariel Wayz and ‘Ubudahwema’, on the album are brand new.

The album is dominated by love songs while it also features a gospel song which he recorded with gospel musician Israel Mbonyi.

"Ubushobozi’ means ability. Ability to love is what makes the world we live in a better place. I want to communicate in my album that no matter what, love still wins in the end,” he said.

Gospel songs are a common item on singer’s album and the same applies to his upcoming album.

"I rarely release an album without at least a gospel song. That’s why I approached Israel Mbonyi and we recorded one,” he explained.

The album will be available on December 12 for Rwf 5, 000 and people will be able to listen to the songs and watch their videos via ‘Zanatalent.rw’, a new online music distribution that the singer launched the same day he announced his new album.

In the growing digital age, artistes have been struggling to make huge returns from their music and hence failed to go back to studio to record new songs.

According to King James, however, ‘Zanatalent’ comes as a huge financial boost because it creates a platform that can help local artists sell their music at a reasonable price so they can get resources to record more songs to deliver to their audience.

Now artists can upload their songs and anyone who wants their music can now pay a set price to listen or watch their songs via the platform.

The payments can be made using Mobile Money or Credit Card.

"As an artiste, I would be happy to see an singer buying cars, house from the money generated from this platform.  The application is here to boost the outcomes of our music,” he said.

Some songs of Juno Kizigenza, Knowless Butera, Social Mula and Kenny have been uploaded on Zanatalent.rw but can be accessed free of charge until the application starts charging the songs on a price agreed between the artistes and King James.

To upload a song via Zanatalent.rw, artistes are supposed to first reach an agreement with King James to pay a certain percentage from the payments generated from the songs uploaded on the platform.
