Bank of Kigali has supported Ndineza Organisation with Rwf46,140,000 to promote the financial inclusion and capacity building of women living in Kamonyi and Muhanga.

Dubbed "Terindi Ntambwe”, the project targets 100 women in each of the two districts to train them in financial inclusion and support the projects that will be born out of the workshop.

The programme kicked off in Kamonyi District on Monday, November 22 where 100 women from different sectors of the district are set to undergo a one-week comprehensive training on financial inclusion.

Some of the topics to be covered include various aspects of financial literacy like the essence of savings, working in cooperatives, creativity and innovation among others.

Benjamin Gahuza, Bank of Kigali’s Branch Manager in Ruyenzi sector rallied the trainees to actively participate in the workshop, citing that they have as equal ability as men.

"We’re supporting the work of Ndineza, because we believe in the power of gender equality. I am sure that all of you ladies can do more than what men can do, and as a matter of fact, our Chief Executive Officer at Bank of Kigali is a woman like you,” he noted.

Our goal, he added, is to financially transform the lives of people, so we promise to be with you and provide the needed guidance in this development journey that you have embarked on.

The founder of Ndineza Organisation, Aline Gahongayire described the project as an activity born out of love, rather than merely a way of finding an occupation.

"We’re coming to help you with love, not as an employment opportunity. We want to take you to another level in your different endeavors by supporting your brainstormed projects that we think are beneficial to the society,” she commented.

One of the project beneficiaries, Theresie Mukamana who hails from Rukoma sector was very optimistic on the impacts of the project.

The beans and cassava farmer hopes that it is coming to make her dreams come true.

"Since my childhood, I had dreamt of becoming a food supplier. I haven’t gone to school, neither did I pass through any apprenticeship program, but according to what I’ve observed, this might be the unique program that is going to make my dreams come true,” she anticipated.

Terindi Ntambwe is a project supported by Bank of Kigali with over Rwf 46 million targeting the training of 100 women in Kamonyi and Muhanga districts respectively, with the aim of educating them on financial literacy and provision of capacity building.
