CFAO Motors Rwanda, the official dealers of Volkswagen in Rwanda, on Friday November 12, launched ‘T-Cross’ models as the carmaker’s practical and versatile addition to Volkswagen’s fast-growing SUV range.

The new T-Cross comes in two variants namely ComfortLine and Highline and is equipped with a 1.6 litre petrol engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and churns out 81KW of power.

With the T-Cross’ stylish and spacious interior, the owner can always have enough room to do the things from inside comfortably as the new car model’s adaptable rear seats are both foldable and slidable.

Rwanda is the first country in the Sub-Saharan region the T-Cross new model is introduced and CFAO Motors Rwanda Chief Operating Officer, Srinivas Cheruvu, is confident the new model is a good addition that their customers will like to enjoy a ride with.

"At CFAO, we are committed to ensure that our customers enjoy driving experience in Volkswagen assembled cars and we promise to continue to collaborate with Volkswagen South Africa to introduce more models on our lineup,” Cheruvu said during the new car model unveiling at the at CFAO Motors Rwanda assembly plant at the Special Economic Zone.

"This model has been very successful in Europe and, as we launch it in Rwanda, we hope it will do well since we believe it is well priced for the Rwandan market,” he added.

The new T-Cross has seven exterior colours to choose from that speak to target customers’ adventurous side. 

With the most advanced Volkswagen technology on offer, one can upgrade to the latest sound from beats and drive the future with Active Info Display, which has advanced graphics to keep track of useful driving information with ease on a 12.3-inch screen.

T-Cross is the third SUV edition introduced on the Rwandan market after Teramount and Tiguan.

It is available at Rwf 36 million with taxes inclusive and, according to Levy Ouso, the General Manager of CFAO Motors Rwanda, CFAO has built partnerships with banks to facilitate customers to pay for the car in installments for an agreed period of time.

Features

The T-Cross leaves a lasting impression at first sight. The striking front end highlights the vehicle’s Volkswagen SUV family affiliation while also emphasizing the individuality of the new model.

Other key features include the dominant bonnet and broad radiator grille, with headlights integrated at either end.

The side view is dominated by two horizontal character lines that ensure a masculine appearance. 

They form a muscular shoulder and culminate in a new, equally memorable design element: a reflective band that spans the rear. This is framed by a black trim panel to visually reinforce the width of the T-Cross.

Equipped with the latest Volkswagen safety features, T-Cross is intuitive on the roads and built with safety of the owner as its highest priority.

The safety features include 6 airbags, electronic stability control, ABS, ASR, Park distance control and park assist for the Highline model.
