After losses to Uganda on the trot in the last two matches of the 2022 World/Africa qualifier, Amavubi will be looking for a win against Mali on Thursday in the return leg tie at Kigali Stadium in Nyamirambo.

Foreign based players, Emery Mvuyekure, Thierry Manzi, Jean Philippe Rutabayiro, Djihadi Bizimana, Clément Buhake Twizere Na Rafael York, and Emmanuel Imanishimwe are part of the contingent that will play the tie after arriving in the country over the weekend.

Rwanda will host Mali on November 11 before facing Kenya on November 14, 2021.

Amavubi defensive midfielder, Djihadi Bizimana remains optimistic they will bounce back and win against Mali and Kenya.

"If we play with high intensity and purpose, then we shall have a good chance to beat Mali. We’re positive we can win and look forward to the next fixture against Kenya,” Bizimana said.

Rwanda under coach Mashami will go into the game without the services of midfielder Meddie Kagere, Jacques Tuyisenge, and Abdul Rwatubyaye.

Mali leads Group E with 10 points, Uganda is second with eight points, Kenya is third with two points while Kenya is third after four rounds of matches with two points while Rwanda is last with a single point.

Only the group’s top team is guaranteed a spot into the final phase of the qualifiers.

The final round will see ten teams drawn into five home-and-away ties, with the five winners automatically securing tickets to represent Africa at the Fifa World Cup 2022.
