Who are the best five Rwandan players abroad in 2021/22 season?

Most of the leagues in Europe are getting to the mid-way line with those in Scandinavia especially Sweden scheduled to end this month.

In Africa, the various leagues are now gaining momentum since most of them started recently.

Rwanda has quite a number of players who ply their trade abroad and some of them have been phenomenal so far this season.

Times Sport takes a look at the best five Rwandan players abroad in the 2021/2022 season.

5- Rafael York (AFC Eskilstuna, Sweden)

The enterprising winger is having a great season despite starting the majority of the Swedish second tier league games from the bench.

The 22-year old budding talent has made a total of 23 league appearances scoring three goals for his club in the ongoing league. He has also been used in different positions such as left back and central midfield.

4- Yannick Mukunzi (Sandvikens IF, Sweden)

Prior to his injury two weeks ago, Mukunzi was the engine of the Sandvikens IF team in the Swedish Etan League.

He was ever present in the midfield anchor role and mostly lasted full time with some superb performances. Mukunzi made a total 16 league appearances this season scoring one goal

3- Djihad Bizimana (KMSK Deinze, Belgium)

The talented central midfielder has been one of the key performers for Deinze this season as they continue to chase for Jupiler Pro League promotion.

Since his summer move from Waaskand Beveren, Bizimana has played a total of nine league games out of ten and amassed a total of 732 minutes. Out of the nine games he has played this campaign, he has lasted 90 minutes in five of them.

2-Emmanuel Imanishimwe (FAR Rabat, Morocco)

The former APR FC left-back has been one of the revelations in the Moroccan league so far this season. He has fitted so well into the Moroccan Army Club and has put up some excellent displays.

Out of the six league games he has played this season, he has lasted full time in five of them and has assisted one goal. In the CAF Club competitions, he has also played every minute for his club.

1-Abdul Rwatubyaye (FK Shkupi, Macedonia)

The giant central defender is playing his first full season for FK Shkupi since his January move from the American Major League Soccer.

The former Colorado Springs guardsman has made fourteen appearances for the Macedonian league leaders in all competitions this season scoring two goals and has been a pillar in their defensive set up. .

Out of the fourteen games, he has lasted full throttle twelve times and was only substituted twice.
