On the night of October 30, 2021, at Impact Hub, Team The Muse in collaboration with Drip-ish Entertainment organised a Poetic Night of the Arts, an event which aimed to bring together poetry and music.

It was organised for the first time and attracted over 60 guests.

Abdulmajid Nsabiyumva, also known by his artist name as Rusine Roarwide, who is part of both Team The Muse and Drip-ish Entertainment that includes poets, DJs as well as musicians said that they have opted to mix poetry and music because they wanted to attract a large audience to come and experience how beautiful poetry is as well as how it can be combined with Karahanyuze (Rwandan oldies) music.

He performed Poetria with Team The Muse, Nyamibwa y'Igikundiro cover featuring Sam Eligaby, Lost in the Mist, and Deep Inside featuring Zion.

He said that since it was their first time, they didn’t meet expectations regarding the poetry audience which was few compared to those who were into music, adding that they will learn from challenges to explore how best they can engage poetry lovers.

Nina Salim Umutesi, the founder of Team The Muse who also performed poetry in French said that the purpose of the event was to bring Rwandans, especially youth, into the poetry world.

She explained that they didn’t get a large audience as they expected because the event coincided with Ish Kevin’s Trappish concert where most of the young people had gone.

Nina performed her poems including Fumée de l'âme, Codage and Funeste remede.

She revealed that her team is planning to market poetry further like how they do for theatre plays because Rwandans aren’t familiar with it yet.

Sandra Nadege who emceed as well as performed poetry and music said that the event was great, adding that the performers were skilled at what they do and the good music entertained the audience.

Her challenge was the inattentive audience for poetry because it seemed like a large part were more interested in music than poetry. However, she believes that next time it will be better if the organisers attract a right audience for poetry.

She performed poems like 'The One for You', 'Holding Hands' and her song called 'Thankful.'

Alain Victor Dufitumuremyi also known as DJ Yolo who was the DJ of the night said that for him, the audience were very engaging and ready to dance and listen to music as well as have fun as he expected.

Other DJs that entertained the audience with latest and old songs are DJ Kunta, DJ E as well as DJ Shooter, all from Drip-ish Entertainment Group.
